Knative

September 16, 2013 — 1 Comment

The guys over at Knative are starting a t-shirt company that collaborates with “rockstar designers” to provide unique, locally sourced, limited-run tees. This is the pre launch poster series. Love it!

Bike Like a New Yorker

September 6, 2012 — 1 Comment

This is such a fun campaign for a good cause. In preparation for the launch of Citi Bike NYC’s new bike share system, Mother NY and bikenyc.org launched this campaign, calling attention to cyclists in New York, and prompting them to use the new bikenyc.org website as a hub for all things bike related. I love the copywriting, but most of all I’m a fan of the typography.

Elroy Ink

Illustrations via, Elroy, a talented Australian designer. Check out more of his work here.

East of Eden is one of my very favorite classics. One that I was happy to discover is a part of Kathryn Macnaughton’s series of Steinbeck cover art for Penguin Books UK. Kathryn is a Toronto based illustrator/graphic designer who combines shapes, photos and illustration to create beautiful work.

I’ve been reading, or rereading a bunch of the classics lately. In doing so, I stumbled across these beautifully illustrated book covers by Mikey Burton. They’re a box set that he designed as part of his theses at Kent State. As far as I can tell, the set “Rest, Relax, Read” is not available for purchase. Bummer! You can however purchase the cover art on a t-shirt, from the guys over at Out of Print. You can also read a little more about Mikey in the interview that FaceoutBooks did with him.

A friend sent me this little gem with the warning that it’s a little long, but “DOPE ISH”.

Graffiti artist TILT was commissioned to design a room for the Hotel Au Vieux Panier. This is what he and a few of his friends created.
