The Avant/Garde Diaries is a festival hosted by Mike D. of the Beastie boys. It’s composed of 17 artists from different disciplines, brought together for a 17 day event consisting of concerts, performances and installations. Avant/Garde Diaries, is open to the public on a first come first serve basis, and is running through the 6th of May. If you’re in LA, go check it out. It looks rad.

A site created to mimic the Capitol’s hype of the hunger games, introduce the characters, and showcase the fashion. It’s exquisitely designed, and thoughtfully presented. I ran across Marina and the Diamonds yesterday. At first glance she reminds me of Lana Del Rey, with her sultry, forlorn look, but her sound is more upbeat. Primadonna has a catchy, pop sound.
This has been making it’s way around the internet lately, and I must say, I love it. German designer, Dave Spengeler created a graphic exploration of what famous brand identities might look like if they had been designed with the current, popular design aesthetic – Hipster Branding.
