The Great Gatsby

April 13, 2013 — 3 Comments

Although I’m not completely sold on Leonardo Dicaprio as Gatsby, (I’ve always pictured him as a Jude Law or Christian Bale type) I can’t wait for this movie. Not only does the cinematography look fantastic, but the sound track has just been released and it’s amazeballs. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Here’s the latest trailer along with some snippets of the sound track, listed in full below.

01 Jay-Z -”$100 Bill”

This is a rather bizarre video for the band Beach House. Directed by Eric Wareheim.

Hand Lettered Song Lyrics

September 21, 2012 — 8 Comments

Leandro Senna is an art director and graphic designer who happens to be very good at hand lettering. Inspired by Bob Dylan´s Subterranean Homesick Blues video, these are some of the hand lettered song lyrics he created. Check out the video to see the whole sequence. Pretty cool.

This is a fun little time lapse video of San Diego. Enjoy.

I love this band. “Heavy is as Heavy Does” is the new single from Portland based band, Menomena.

Delta Heavy‘s latest music video is a little stop motion piece for their song Get By. Directed, produced, and animated Ian Robertson.

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

Here’s the latest and greatest from Foster the People. Honestly, I’m a little confused as to why they’ve adopted the boy band, synchronized dance moves, but as long as they’re not going full on “N Sync – Bye Bye Bye” I can deal with it.

Here’s the latest sneak peak from M.I.A.s new album, expected to drop sometime this summer.

The Avant/Garde Diaries is a festival hosted by Mike D. of the Beastie boys. It’s composed of 17 artists from different disciplines, brought together for a 17 day event consisting of concerts, performances and installations. Avant/Garde Diaries, is open to the public on a first come first serve basis, and is running through the 6th of May. If you’re in LA, go check it out. It looks rad.
